There never were any discussions, photos and exchange of opinions about the Russian Artillery Set, that First Legion released in their Seven Years War line, unless I missed it.
I am currently on the edge to get this set. It is quite nice in my opinion, the poses are well done, the 12lb'er cannon looks nice.
I know by experience, that collector's photos often give a better idea than the advertising photos on the mfr's website.
So, if anyone has this set and would like to share his opinion, either with photos are just verbal, I would very much appreciate any feedback.
Attached is the official FL photo, so everyone knows what I'm talking about :smile2:
Happy Collecting!

Konrad!!!!!!!! so glad to see you posting here today, I really can not comment on the sets you were inquring about but they look very good to me and hope you buy them, again good to see you posting and hope all is well...Sammy

I purchased these guys awhile back and although I know nothing of the SYW, they are really well done, no complaints. I especially like the commander figure. I've found over the years that the First Legion figures always look better in person than any picture. I think all the mass producing manufacturers are just the opposite. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks much, Kollos,
for your personal picture of this set. Much appreciated.
And I agree with you. The promotional pictures of quality mfrs. never do the figures justice.
Glad to get another view here :salute::

I have several of FL's cannons and probably like this one the best.
I only have one member of this particular crew, the officer (SYW014), but I think he's very well done and so wouldn't hesitate to get other members.

Unfortunately though, my SYW014 arrived with one eye painted properly and one eye not.
This one-eyed scoundrel somehow evaded FL's Quality Control Dept in China (which I suspect is actually just Matt sipping Jasmine Tea) before making his way into my collection where he irritates me daily.
Does anyone out there happen to have a spare 1/30 scale eye patch?

Thanks for your comment, McFuglas.

That is too funny. Not that you received a figure, which apparently wasn't properly painted, but the way you comment it ^&grin
That Officer to me, is by far the superior figure of the group, but what would make him even more stand out, would be a properly applied 1/30 scale eye patch.

But, kidding aside, I'm sure that your dealer, or Matt, can arrange a replacement. Although, as your post "sounds" to me, you got used to your "one eyed cannon commander" :smile2:

And at last, I have made up my mind, and will be getting this Artillery set soon.
The cannon looks great, and the red uniforms of the crew are just striking.

Cheers, and Happy Collecting!

I agree with that statement completely on how First Legion figures look better in person over any others. :)
