Hello everybody,
it is my great pleasure to show some pictures of a vignette that I had comissioned to get it painted. The kit is from Tradition of London and the painting has been done by a fellow forum member (beating retreat) from the U.K.
The scene depicted shows the moment when Sgt. Ewart from the Scots Greys captures a French Eagle during the battle of Waterloo.
The painting is simply stunning and I want to express a big "Thank You" to beating retreat for such a fine work.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Konrad

Hello Konrad,
That's really a masterpiece !
If you have similar pieces in your collections you should definitely create some albums.

Hi Konrad,

My compliments to you and Beating Retreat for such an outstanding figure! While there is very much impressive work on this figure, the dappling on the horse is most impressive to me. So often, the dappling appears as polka dots on horses. Clearly, Beating Retreat got it right! And,...you are fortunate to add such a fine figure to your collection!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Konrad,

It seems that you are travelling down the Napoleonic road more and more.

I assume that these are from the Tradition model soldier range and painted in matt then gloss varnished? This has given a splendid effect on the horse.

John has produced a very nice painted set to say the least!.......:)

Regards

Jeff

Btw, glad your figures turned up ok.

Hi Pat,
thank you and I knew you would be looking at the painting style of the dappling ;) I remember you asking about the specifics of the dappling painting on some other thread a while ago.

Exactly, Jeff,

the kit is TG54-05 from Tradition's model soldier range (British Troops of the Napoleonic Wars), and with the painting you're right too. John is using any kinds of color that suit his taste and the gloss finish is due to a varnish.

Yes, the "Spoils of War" set arrived well and I will feature it in next sunday's pictures.

Thanks Michel,
for now this is my first one with a second vignette soon to arrive, but I am hopeful that throughout the next year I will be able to add a few more sets in this fine finish.

Not my range , but my taste for sure! What a piece, and it is GLOSSY!! Everything about the piece is exceptional. Enjoy it! Mike

Konrad, congratulations on being the owner of another finely painted set. Great work John!
