The American Air Power Museum in Farmingdale NY, dedicated on veterans day, an operational Sherman Tank, that was brought over from Europe, thanks to the kindness of a real estate developer who paid for the tank to be shipped home in honor of our vets. It looks like an M4A3, and she's a real beauty. They drove it out of a hanger for all the guests to see, as it rumbled to a display area. It is believed to be the only Sherman tank on display in the New York metro area. I am going next week and will take photo's. There is also an M8 greyhound on display. and some WW2 trucks, that supplement the planes nicely. When I retire some years from now, I plan on donating my K&C displays etc to this museum. For those of you not familiar with the area, it sits on the old Republic/Grumman area, that built some of the greatest war birds in history. So there is lots of history on this tarmac, and now the Sherman tank has a new home among the warbirds.
