Last week I received from Kings X the lastest Crocket figure. A jewel of a piece. Unfortunately when I opened it I found the end of the fiddle was broken off....looks like when the foam insert was put in over the figure, a "overly strong" finger pushed to hard.
In fairness to K&C, before writing this, I notified Kings X by email and within 1 hour I had a reply offering a full replacement. The goodnews here is I have the skills to apply a full repair, and thanked them for their offer, but no replacement was required. The point was to give them a heads up of a potential packaging flaw and if a trend was discovered, to fix it. They seemed most appreicative(sp).
I have always had this kind of reponsive and immediate call to replace anything I was not happy with. It says a lot for this industry, and although a "headsup" to other collectors, the risk here in adding this piece to your collection is zero.
Photos are with the base I made using a "Sea Sponge" shaped as a tree top. Feels right to have Davy bringing up a tune in Kentucky before telling everyone listening "You go to Hell, I'm going to Texas"
