I just sold on eBay a $34 boxed figure to a buyer from Indonesia.I have heard nothing but BAD things about shipping to Indonesia and am thinking the only way to ship is US Priority International Airmail which includes tracking and insurance for $28. Seems like alot to charge a buyer for a $34 figure, but I think I would be STUPID to ship US 1st class airmail without tracking & insurance to Indonesia. What do you guys think before I send him an invoice. I do not specify what method I will ship overseas. I have no problems sending small boxes to places like Australia, as they get there faster than shipping in the USA !!! Thanks for your opinions, Andy

Andy...

I can't imagine the guy would agree to $28 for a $34 figure...

I think the only way to make the deal is to roll the dice with USPS First Class cheapo mail...

if the guy has a good history...the deal will most likely work...

can't imagine he would pay that much for Priority Express...

what have you heard that was bad about Indonesia...customs...shipping...customers...???

For $34, I would just go with First class. That way, if something happens, your losses are not that high.

I've regularly sent figures to a collector in West Timor (Indonesian) and used Air Mail, and he has always got his parcel.

With Indonesia being our closest neighbour, it still sometimes takes a few weeks, but they all have finally arrived.

I think its 'the luck of the draw', as far as getting parcels go missing, but I'd contact the buyer firstly and give him the option of what method he wants, and then its his decision and cost, and he will have no comeback to you.

This is what happened to me recently with a purchase (a fellow Treeforgger) from the US who wanted to use US Priority International Airmail.

I chose to use US 1st class airmail without tracking & insurance and save costs. The parcel arrived safely 'down under, so we both were satisied with the purchase and sale.

I hope that helps,

John
