... Specifically the USN / SOHK series. I know that Chris Munro custom builds a USS San Pueblo to go along with the USN figures but does anybody know if there is Chinese junk model or other (watercraft that could fit into a SOHK type diorama) out there somewhere that could be incorporated into my collection?

cheers

At the West Coaster Andy mentioned that, in addition to the Sampans and USN Launch (both of which I highly recommend), there would be a Chinese Pirate Junk coming. Not sure if it's on the schedule for this year, but I'd wait for that before I went looking at for 3rd party pieces.

Now, if only Build-a-Rama or JG would make a harbor mat for the USN and Kriegsmarine boats.

Yeah, heard the rumor about the K&C pirate junk but I'm not holding my breath waiting for that to happen anymore. Figured it would have been previewed at Chicago. But, maybe there's a reason why us SOHK / USN collectors have been neglected for much of this year... a BIG surprise to make up for the lack of SOHK or USN releases maybe????;)

So, I'm on the hunt for something to fill the gap and complete my setup. Found a couple of Chinese junk models on ebay but they all seem to be the wrong scale and it's hard getting specific information. Alternatively can anybody recommend a model builder who could do it, preferably in Australia?

BTW, you guys see this?

It's not K&C and it's not my area of interest but my god that's impressive. Wonder how many would sell? I recall Andy saying once that K&C toyed with the idea of a pirate ship but the size and cost did not make it a viable proposition, which I can understand.

I am using my Conte roman war galley to compliment the Ancient Egyptian line. Would like to see KC take a stab at an Egyptian Nile boat (circa 45 BC, not something from the Sudan or such). I'd buy it.
