Am leaving for Oahu and Maui in a couple of days . . . any toy soldier shops I should visit?

I don't believe there are any. About 20 years ago, I came upon some Samurai soldiers in a tourist gift shop in the Whaler's Village in Kaanapali on Maui. There were neat, but too expensive. I guess what I'm trying to say is, keep your eye out in gift shops, you never know what you may stumble upon. We have great weather in Hawaii and some good food, but that's about it. Be sure to see the battleship Missouri at Pearl Harbor. Those 16 inch guns are quite impressive. Fort DeRussey in Waikiki has a neat little military museum. Hawaii has a good number of Medal of Honor recipients.

Al,

My wife and I have visited four of the islands on ten different vacations---never found a toy soldier shop. Don't miss Pearl Harbor, Fort DeRussey, the National Military Cemetery, and the 25th "Tropical Lightning" Infantry Division museum, all on Oahu. Oh yes, be sure and try the Portuguese hot donuts called Malasadas sold at Leonard's in Honolulu. They are adictive. I'll bet you can't just eat one!

I'm pretty sure Markeymaker has said he plans on opening a toy soldier shop when he moves there; how's that move going by the way, it's been awhile hasn't it?

Warrior...the plan is still the same! I repeat that the home we bought is a model home used for selling others in the subdivision. The builder has a right to it for 3 years, it's been over 1 1/2 years now and they just renewed (lease) for 6 more months. Go for Broke knows where our house/subdivision is. I'm hoping Andy will stand behind me and provide support for selling his product? As I'm certain the magnitude of annual vistors will find interest in them...men, woman & children. So as of now there are no Toy Soldier Shops on Maui!
