The Gunner should tell the officers to help out by lending a 'shoulder to the wheels' and help 'lay the gun'.

One man can't shift a gun of that size, and wth 3 officers just looking on, what chance has he of stopping the enemy?

As ususal, too many officers doing nothing... :(

and not enough gunners doing what they should ..... getting 'hot and sweaty' manning 'the fire breathing dragons' :)

Ubique

I am afraid Dan will never stoop so low as to man a gun! :)

OK, it may be too low for Dan ( who is he anyway???)

BUT is fine for Le Emperor to man a gun at the Battle of Lodi on May 10, 1796

Hi John

Dan would be Dan Sickles. The Union 3rd Corp Commander at Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg where he lost a leg and spent the next 50 plus years of his life defending his decision to advance the 3rd Corp to the Peach Orchard line.

That's right......

I read a great book by Thomas Keneally, (who also wrote Schindler's Ark which was made into the Academy Award winner Schindler's List), called "American Scoundrel: The Life of the Notorious Civil War General Dan Sickles"

Interesting guy ........

Thanks for the feedback :)
