So guys, with half the twelve Dispatches of 2011 already dispatched, whats been your stand out release so far this year?. For me I'd have to say the Jagdtiger is a favourite and also the Grant Tank we got back at the start of the year (time goes quick doesn't it!{eek3}).

And hopes for the second half of the year, well apart from the Typhoon, Andy mentioned more Brits for D Day which I'm looking forward to very much.

So how is your collecting year working out for you?

Rob

Hi Rob,

I think I would have to go with the new releases for the Sons of the Empire range, I’m really glad this is going forward after a long wait since the first three mounted figures.

I agree, this is colourful and has lots of potential for what I like to call the 'wow' factor which generally for me, means multiple figures. Cheers, Robin.

Unfortunately I've not bought anything from K&C this year yet. I'm considering the P40 and Typhoon though.

Terry mate,
But I thought you said Italian tanks don't sell.^&grin^&grin
Cheers Howard

It was Andy who has said that in the past. It's still my favourite this year along with the 2 NAPS in Egypt drinking and reading the stone.

Now all we need is Italian armour on the Eastern Front {sm2}{sm4}

I would have to agree with Rob as this year I have narrowed my collecting down to RAF and D-Day Brits so the Typhoon is of course a stand-out (I think it must be for any collector of K&C, regardless of range preference) and the mention of the future releases of more British D-Day sets.

I don't collect the range but Andy's comment regarding surprises for collectors of WWII Russians has my attention too!

Chris

RAF Fuel Bowser in the yellow and blue scheme ofcourse!!! Honourable mention would be the Athenian Marine and the sneek peek of his Ancient Greeks comrades.
For the remaining six months I'm eagerly awaiting any D-Day Brits or Arnhem troops/AFV's/vehicles. ^&cool Almost forgot........and the WWI warbirds. :wink2:

I love Sons of the empire but the sparayed gloss coat didn't win me over...I want to see gloss paint done old school! For me I'm open to a limited production high end complete hand painted set...something for $500 or so would be fine with me...if you want to make it even less limited then $1000 would be o.k too^&grin

Matter of fact, I would really, really like an authentic old school gloss "Navy Seal Set"...are you listening Andy?

Ur right Markey
SOE gloss is not doing it for me either
I have The mounted ones and if i add it will be matte
Those KC SOE glossy don't seems right to me

For me it wasn't anything to do with matte and gloss conflicting, it was more to do with matching gloss with the way gloss has become known to me.

The Egyptians for me ....was a nice start....and of course the RAF.......^&grin

For me its got to be the fuel trucks! Oh & the italian tank captured by the Ozzys!

Craig

Nothing so far but down for a Typhoon & Mickey Mouse fuel truck

Bet you're pleased Andy has confirmed the Kittyhawk you wanted too eh Craig?!:smile2:

Rob

Totally pleased Rob & I can't wait! Now I'm just not sure if I'm gona go for all 3 fuel trucks or just 2? Ive got the blue one ordered plus a camo one is mine if I like it on seeing it but I think I'm gona want the desert one so may pass on the camo lol

I agree that there have been some excellent releases so far this year. I've been mainly concentrating on trying to complete my RAF and Crimea series, so most purchases have been sets from 2010 and earlier. I've also picked up some great scenic pieces like the Normandy church facade and the dessert village wall for the Bulge and Medieval series I collect too. I do have the RAF blue & yellow fuel bowser on order though and am eagerly awaiting the WW1 warbirds. I have most early war WW1 sets and can see it being an expensive year if there are 3 Albatrosses coming up, some personality figures and possibly some early fighting french and more Germans.....

That's not to mention gaps in my AK, Napoleanic and Arnhem collections. And the temptation to add some of the great new late war German sets to my Berlin collection!
