I think early native Americans would make a interesting series for adversaries of the Vikings. IMG_0452.JPGIMG_0453.JPGIMG_0455.JPG

One of the most fascinating and "lost in time" encounters in history ....... I love these pictures . Where are they from ?

Andrew

Two of the pictures I googled "skraelings" and found them and the other is from a osprey publication about the Vikings. Here's a few more. I wish a manufacturer would make some figures. IMG_0535.JPGIMG_0536.JPGIMG_0537.JPG

Interesting thought for a series, i would love to see the native indians attacking the shield wall of the norse invaders. Both groups were noted for their ferocity in battle. Seeing them interacting together in a peaceful village scene would be great as well. Sapper.

Neat idea! I wonder if the TV show Vikings will ever feature the exploits of the Vikings who sailed to North America.

Hey Sapper,

I checked the figures that are available at the moment and between W.Britians & JJD i believe this dio can be done.{sm4}

There are a few sets that would allow for either a meeting or ambush dio to be done, they won't be exact but they will be very close.

Hello Matt, I could possibly manage that scene now with the Vikings and Indians [without muskets] that i have , but my figures are in permanent displays that i'm continuing to develop. I've thought about it in the past and i'm considering doing a display for next years King and Country dinner night. It could be a Viking ship sailing into a village scene, after having been on a raid. Another scenario could be a ship approaching a Saxon fort, or an encounter with the Indians.
I have something to decide in the meantime. My friend Howard, would be able to do that scene with the Indians though, knowing the figures he has available. Regards Greg.

I have attempted a small scene in the diorama section. Please excuse the powder horns and hatchets on the native Americans. Obviously flint tipped spears and war clubs with stone heads would be in use.

I thought it would be difficult for you to resist doing a Viking and Skraelings scene and it looks good with such short notice. I might try something this weekend coming to compliment your's. Regards Greg.
