this looks pretty simple...

I'm trying one right now...

I took an old piece of Masonite board...

on the smooth side I painted it blue...

forget the goofy dolphins and weird design...

just watch how he makes the clouds...

got to the 1:14 mark...

I'm just doing a blue sky with clouds...

3 colors...

painted blue...mist of gray...clouds white...

they look pretty good and seem pretty easy...

Yea, that does "LOOK" easy but I'll wait to see what you have to say after you have perfected the process!

I would love to try an ocean with a "Rising Sun" as a naval backdrop!
Seems that the same technique would apply to water as well as clouds ....:rolleyes2:

Wow !

Love the idea...not enough talent here to make it work.
Please post picture after you try it.

Good backgrounds add so much...and cost the same.

I tried it...

did a rush job...

didn't like my results...

looked absolutely nothing like the video...

I really never gave it a chance...

so...

I repainted my board sky blue and added some mists of gray and white...

hahaha...

it looks okay...

it looks like a sky anyway...

but almost anything painted blue does...

Have 3 White boards which I painted with sky Blue spray trying to leave some of the White surface open as clouds. Would look much better if I had some talent, but as you say Mike, it's Blue and sorta looks like sky and clouds. Robin.

It looks like everything else you do - Great !

Thank you

Thank you

as long as it's big and blue...it's close enough for me...^&grin...^&grin...^&grin

I think yours looks great Mike! Light misty clouds, just like how it is in the sky.

Now you need to do a massive thunderstorm cloud! {sm3}^&grin

Tom...

that thing is over 3 foot long...

which really gives me a lot of leeway horizontally in taking pictures...

honestly...

a solid light blue would create pretty much the same effect...

True, but I think the light misty clouds you painted gives it that extra special touch.
