Thanks, yes a B-24 model can be a problem due to it's size. The 1/72 Corgi model has a wingspan of 18". I also have a 1/48 B-24 model from Franklin Mint that has a wingspan of 27" and is hard to even get in a picture frame.
I knew a B-24 pilot based in Italy during WWII that lived in my hometown (passed on now) and he told me about the time they got shot down and had to bail out over Romania while on a raid to Ploesti. FW-190's attacked them.
