Ok does any know or have an idea how to make it look like a vehicle is kicking up snow. My idea is to make a sheet of hot glue then stick some fake snow on it then stick up so it looks like snow is being kick up.

Also with explosions. Im trying to make a mortar strike, any ideas. Im thinking maybe some of that paper little kids use in their school dioramas for fire or the way mentioned above with different colors.:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Excellent post Richard.
Personally I've no idea how you would do it. Look forward to some of our more knowledgable members responding to this one. :)

Richard: There are dealers and at shows that sell metal castings of bomb blasts. They can be painted up with yellow, black and red and look good. Snow would be harder to make. Build up wire strands sticking out to sides of vehicle and make a splash pattern. I never tried it but made puddles. Leadmen

Another shot. Also pipe cleaners painted might be bent to create splashes. Putty shaped and painted might work. Leadmen

Metal castings sold at show and smaller ones from Timpo castings. L

Dear Richard,
Attached are some photos I took of a dealer display at the 2007 West Coaster. I believe he stretched cotton on wire, then spray painted it to create the explosions.:)

Those are impressive photos Steven. Its given me the urge to try and emulate those explosions. :)

Ye, Steve, very nice special the explosion over the tank, I have seen this kind of setting before in the in the War Museum of Canada in Ottawa (Canada’s Capital). They used cotton wire and a little SOS cleaning brush to add realism on the set.

Cheers

Using lint from my dryer after doing my laundry today thought I'd try it for effect. First to photos creating snow. Not having any armored vechiles I've use a cannon. You can take small pieces and place them between the threads of your armored vechile or what ever. The next to photos are Zulus under fire from Major Smith N Battery at Isandlwana. I didn't spend to much time on creating the cannon shots with more time spent a better effect can be achieved. Let's face it it's a no cost item that can be used.......The Lt.

That would be sweet for like fog, its a little to dark for snow.

Richard, you might want to consider the fact that with the movement of vechiles as well as troops it would darken the snow covering to some extent creating the effect shown in photo two.........The Lt.

I've not tried it, but there are a variety of water scenic effect products which may provide a good 'splash'. As I said, I've not used any of the water products out there, but having seen dios with them in, it could prove to provide a very realistic trye splash effect.

I was thinking . If someone were to use hot glue on a Cookie sheet or just wax paper and make kind of a shooting star pattern then let it cool. or cover it with snow crystals before it cools. That might look pretty good as snow being thrown from tires.
