In the tradition of Players Cigarette Cards, I am creating a series of cards of individual figures from the Battle on Snowshoes series. Since we are used to looking at these figures as parts of sets or in dioramas, I thought it would be fun to reacquaint ourselves with the individual figures as works of art in their own right. So with that said here is the first in the series:

That's nice Randy, pretty crisp shot.

If I download these on some good stock will they increase in value?

Very nice Randy. Every time I say to myself, "Surely he's exhausted all the possibilities," you come up with something else wonderful to look at.:D

Thanks and a wonderful weekend to you.

P.S. What were the Players Cigarette Cards, what did they cover, and when were they available? Have you explained this elsewhere?

Thanks Russell

I get bored easily and like to try new things all the time. I have turned my retirement into creative playtime:)

I explained this on the WB Glossy thread "Military Tobacco Cards"

http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14151

British Tobacco Co. trading cards --pre Topps Bubble gum era--they did a wide variety of subjects including uniforms and military history--very popular in early decades of 20th C

Ooooooooooooooooh,

That's a good one Randy.

His blue coat looks rich and vibrant, nice shot.:cool::cool:

This reminds me of a piece of realistic sculpture that one might find on a Baroque altarpiece in Europe. It's actual size is belied by its feeling of monumentality.

Very nice card pictures Randy. They make me appreciate my snowshoe collection. John

Card 8 (Obverse & Reverse)

To show how John loads a lot of details on the backs and sides of his figures

Card 9 A

This is one of my favorite of John's BOS sculpts in the series and I will be doing a walk around in subsequent cards
