Hi Guys,

Don’t know why but just recently quite a few collectors have been asking about a new German command vehicle…

I spoke to Andy this morning (before he left for another trip to China) and he confirmed that we have an all-new HORCH vehicle already in the works and… some king of… Tiger!

Sounds interesting my friends but sorry I could not get more info than that!

Happy Collecting!

Hi Guys,

i'm sorry for starting this thread so early, but i'm too excited ;)..

do you think Andy will release the kind of Tiger for May's despatch?

and if yes, which Tiger will it be?

I hope for a Henshel King Tiger for the Ardennes Offensive :p

You guys?

I think a model of the famous Tiger II #332 from the Battle of the Bulge that was abandoned by the Germans and captured by the US. A nice big Tiger II with GIs in winter jackets climbing on it would look great and be something quite different that has never been done by anybody!

This tank is now on display at the Patton Museum at Ft. Knox, KY.

...or Kurt Sowa's 222 from that famous picture of a Tiger II with Fallschirmjager all over it. :)

I hope whoever does it will put the correct late war factory paint scheme on it.

I'd love to see either a Jagdtiger or a whitewashed King Tiger most of all.(Not that my German armoured Bulge force needs any reinforcing!)

Rob I liked the idea of Jagdtiger or a King Tiger, but i go for Normandy 1944.

K and C have quite a number of Normandy Tigers already. The winter Tiger was not a Bulge one I believe so maybe they will do a winter Bulge type Tiger. Unfortunately Rodrigo I don't think they will do a Kursk one but it would be good.

Whitewashed Tiger! For those of us who missed earlier winter AFVs;).

Tiger IIs of s.SS.Pz.Abt.501 including 222 during the Battle of the Bulge.

Note the absence of whitewash due to the lack of snow at the start of the offensive.

Excellant pics Frank, love the camo scheme on 222.Heres a question guys,do you think the missing track guards spoil the 'visual effect' of the Tank or do you think they add realism?.I can't make up my mind.

Rob

This is all fun guys and not to throw cold water on this whole thing, but we don't know what's coming and sometimes we get carried away with the expectations. Then, when the actual announcement is made and it's not what we dreamed of, it can get really ugly on this site with people venting there disapointment against the manufacturer. It's really one of the things I hate about all the talk constantly about "what's going to be announced next month". whatever comes out will always be a major disappoinment to someone and can never live up to all our fantasies.
Bottom line, try to see the good in whatever comes out and not just see what didn't. ;)

I think the missing tank track guards should be (where practical) supplied separately giving the collector the option of having them all in place, or leaving them off. Tank hatches should also be (where practical) supplied separately, so that they can be displayed open or closed.
I think K&C have already gone down this road a little bit by offering the new DD093 Sherman with optional supplies that the collector can choose to use or not.
This offers the chance for us to individualise our collections.

BTW, I have no idea, nor am I in any way interested, how this increased choice might affect the secondary market.

Cheers

Good idea Harry. With the Tiger I it looks ok to have some dented guards etc, however with the KT i sometimes think the missing guard 'gap' looks big and spoils the line of the machine.A good idea to have them seperate for sticking in place if required.

Rob

If it's possible that would be great. I like the battle damage "field look" but only if the vehicle is going to be in a diorama and sometimes I don't know that until months after I've bought the piece. If I'm just displaying it I'm with Rob in going for the cleaner look of "factory fresh" or close to it.

Damian, I will be happy with any tiger...but if I have a choice i will suggest without winter camouflage...Regarding Kursk, I gave up for east front characters...:(

maybe one day we (eastern front amateurs) will have something....

Run Flash, Run!

Ray I will agree with you! One of the reasons I stayed away from the Tanks and WWII. Could not resist the lure of the armor though. I do not have such demands though as I know nothing about German Armor or any Armor for that matter!
