Was just wondering how many of you out there will be going to the London show and what time you think you will be there.Normally i'm there really early and have to shoot off somewhere, but not on the 31st.Hope to be around for hours and hope to meet some of you.:)

You will need all that time - you are a man on a mission - remember! ;)

I'll be there, camera in one hand and Visa in the other.

Have fun at the show. If any of you guys see an Imperial Dutch Red Lancers Set 105 or 106 let me know!

It's not just lady's that do lunch you Know . I've been meaning to post for ages to see if any body wants to take a break at lunch. To sit down and hold a mini forum face to face. Norfolks an easy county to get into, but harder to leave so will not get to the show much before 9.45. is the early bird ticket worth the extra to hit the stalls early? May have to try for the early early train:eek:

I always enjoy the early bird entry. You get to look round without so many people about, and its then i run up my credit card bill!.Also i have a complimentary ticket this year (from last Decembers goodie bag)so it won't cost a bean.Hoping to still be around at lunchtime but my back may well have given out by then.

Rob:)

Rob,

You have my admiration. Bending over to look at tables is very tought on the back. I remember when my back was bad and I used to collect baseball cards, bending over at a card show was not an easy thing to do. I would have to make sure to take my drugs that morning to make sure I could survive the show.

Good luck mate.

Thanks Brad,

Its always nice to hear i'm not alone!.I hear what your saying about the tables, am going to have to take a sit down break i think.Another reason i'm going for the early bird is that there's more space to move.Whats more the wife's got the car on Saturday so i've got to carry my booty back on the train. The pain i go through for my hobby!

Cheers

Very good points you raise and you have just put to bed an argument that Mike and Myself (Bobs on my side) have had about table heights.

As you know they are desinged to be sat at not designed for trade shows. We are making (sorry wont be ready for London) some raisers that will lift the table about 1ft thus making there no need to bend down. Mind you will have to pick up kids!!

Re Early Bird....

Rob uses the early bird to the max in the manner it is ment for. You can get in and look around with out the hassle of the main crowed. In december we had 45 Eb for 250 tables when we opened the doors at the main time there was a rush of 230 so you can see the difference it makes.

Plus Rob gets the advantage that I can usually have a chat and chew some 'cudd' with him as i am not too busy.

Good seeing James and his mum yesterday.................one of the most understanding mums in the hobby.....mind i think for a young guy Sott (Arnhem44 has the kindest mum!!!!)

regards

Tony

Victory for us sufferers! I like the early bird idea. They do it (or at least in 2005) did it in Chicago and you get first dibs on what may be out there.

Tony...a simple easy quick fix to the table height is PVC pipe. Not sure if you have Home Depot type stores but if you do go in and by some PVC pipes. Simply cut them to size and slip them over the table legs to increase the height of the table.....its so easy its almost silly. Your taller customers will thank you!

Warbuff

You got it! that is what we are doing but there is a lot of pipe to cut (more than i thought) Home Depot is our B&Q!!

Brad has another point with early bird you do get first dibs. Works better in shows where there is more old stuff...........or bargains to have.

mind in Chicago by the show day surley most of the bargains have gone.......

Ealry birds should remember to not get in the way of traders still setting up...as show organisers we do get compalints from those traders who turn up late and fling their goods on the table then fall asleep for the rest of the day!

Always makes me laugh as for London they can get there on Friday and set up or even at 6am on the Saturday when the show Eb starts at 7.30 until 8.30 and main addmission is 10am and you still have traders coming in grumbling and moaning................makes me wounder why some traders do it. It is as if they do not want to sell their stuff.
