Hi, my name is Michael and I have become addicted to soccer. Never, never liked it till I watched World Cup play 2 years ago..I am embarrassed and ashamed and ask forgiveness from my fellow members, who follow real sports...Again, sorry..:redface2:Michael

Did you watch the Euros?

Your addiction is about to get a fix. The English Premier League starts next week.

Nothing to be ashamed of; international soccer, ie, The World Cup, The Euros, etc, etc, is great sport, I'm right there with you.

I'm almost at the point where I prefer the real "football" to our pathetic US version.....................

Bayern-München, baby, yeah!

Prost!

Munich has a very good manager, Carlo Ancelotti, who has been very successful, especially in winning the Champions League, a source of frustration for Bayern. Unfortunately, Pep Guardiola wasn't able to do that, although he, too, is an excellent coach (who is now at Manchester City).

I thought it was a mistake when Real Madrid got rid of Ancelotti but at least theynow have Zidane, who I think is doing a good job.

La Liga (Spanish First Division), best football after the English League, opens up on the 19th. Many La Liga games can be found on BeIn Sports, which a lot of cable companies carry.

The EPL is on NBC Sports, which probably all cable companies carry. NBC does a top job on this.

The Bundesliga is on Fox Sports and they do a pretty good job.

Hi Michael, I also love football (not sure what this "soccer" is, is it an American thing)? ^&grin I wouldn't put the English Premier Leaague above any of the other leagues, the best thing about football is going to the game and having a few pints before and after.

This can also be a downside as I'll be in Bristol on Thursday night in a riot van {sm2} working Bristol City v. Cardiff which is a bit of a local derby.........hopefully I'll get to see the game though and if nothing else it will be a good atmosphere

Don't ever watch Leeds Utd.......they're rubbish but I still support them.

I remember when Leeds was in the top flight, about seven or eight years ago. I know it's been a tough go since then.

Big club with a good history but they are where they deserve to be. I did expect them to bounce straight back to the Premier League but now I can't see it happening any time soon. If only Cantona, Alan Smith, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank, Mark Viduka, and Tony Yeboah were still about!

Trust me Simmo, that's why 99% of the US football fans go to the games as well.....................:wink2:

"Low scoring ,slow moving and ties ! You betcha"
To quote a Simpsons tagline for a soccer game.

If you have to quote that, then you don't understand the game.
