I wonder if i could please ask a few basic dio questions from the experts on this forum.

1.Where in the UK might i get some polystirene/foam to work with?.

2.Do you paint your foam in a base colour before your top colour and if so what colour do you use?.

3.What type of glue would you use to cement two sections together?

4.Do you know of an online supplier where i might buy tools, glue, terrain modelling materials etc?.

5.Have you any tips for making shell holes?.

Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give me here.

Cheers

Rob,

1. www.yellowcatshop.co.uk
In the foam section, scan down towards the bottom of the page until you get to the blue and pink foam

2. Yes. I use the large tubes of acryllic paint that you can pick up for £2 or £3 from The Works, or similar discount book and art material shops. I use either black or dark grey for concrete type structures or a dark brown such as burnt umber, for terrain. It helps to dilute with water slightly first, and give it an all over paint job. I then tend to paint dark to light.

3. I use general purpose glue with a hot glue gun.

4. Should be able to get pretty much most things from the website at 1. For roughing up and shaping the foam, I use bastard files / rasps, and just standard snapp off knives to cut away large areas.

5. For a shell hole, I would rasp it out, as 4.
