Some considerations about bases and kneeling soldiers (1 Viewer)

Sometime kneeling soldiers come with bases, and sometime not. I had fun to put the latter on the basis of a broken soldier .

The question is : are similar bases for sale , in some mysterious place?

Well...it depends on what you are looking for as a base. If you want just a flat detail-less base to hold the figure up, then some war game shops offer them (I am just thinking of ATKM). If, however, you want something that is going to match the terrain detail of your other pieces, my feeling is just make your own...it couldn't be simpler. Purchase a two-part epoxy sculpting putty and mix enough for a base. Flatten and sculpt edges irregularly or to match other figures. With a decent sculpting tool (or two) you can texture the base to batch the others...then paint. It honestly doesn't take much longer to do it than it was to post this response. If you don't have any sculpting tools, you may possibly make do with any makeshift tools like toothpicks, xacto knives, and just about anything you can find in your wife's junk draw. I have also used this method on extending bases that were too small to hold the figure up (like heavy flagbearers). Once the base is dried and painted, you may even decide to flock it as well.
