I know it's mostly metal figures that are discussed on this forum but for most of us it was probably plastic that got us into the hobby.
I've got a pretty large collection of Britains Deetail, Airfix, Timpo and Matchbox figures that you don't see around much any more. they aren't worth huge amounts but they are still pretty cool.
So i've posted a few quickly taken photos of some of my Timpo figures.
What I always liked about the timpo figures was they way you could pull apart the top and bottom halves of the figures as well as swap heads around and the equipment they were holding to create a variety of poses.

Next time i'll try to post some pictures of my Timpo Apaches that are among the favourite figures in my collection.

Heh i've got the hang of the focus by the last photo so hopefully next time they may be better :)

AW more plastic. Guess I am not alone here afterall. The Timpo figures are pretty cool. I find it hard to move over to metal figures guess just because I grew up with plastic. I still like plastic better. But have to admitt the detail on some of the great metal figures is outstanding. I dont have many timpo plastic figures but will look to see what I do have . I have most every other kind of plastic figures though and love them all. Thanks for sharing these with us and will look forward to your picks of the apachies.
Keep having Fun.
Charlie:)

Thanks for sharing Easy. Iv'e got loads of the Timpo Romans and Crusaders, they are great looking figures. Iv'e also got loads of the Britains Swoppet ACW Union and Confederate Infantry, Cavalry and Artillery with guns, crews and Caissons. Loved that stuff as a kid and always will, thanks for the pictures..........

Nice camera work Eazy and looking forward to you next group of photos. As a open forum it's a shame with what's available out there today we are not seeing alot more interest being shown on the forum. Needed to pick up a few things at Walmart today an stop my their toy department where I came across a group of WWII Armour and figures done it plastic. Got to be honest if I had the room in my small abode I'd start a major campaign on collecting what's out there and wouldn't be affair to put them up against what's being raved about in the higher price range. Put in a well done Dio you'd never know the difference......The Lt.

Nice sets Eazy,
I'm a big collector of Airfix and Matchbox 1/32 plastic, always nice to see some of the earlier plastic figures making a guest appearance on the forum.

I remember those as a kid, I had crusaders and knights. I did have a few calvary but no indians. I remember my brother hated them, but I liked them because they had color, and poseable. I guess thats where my converting came from, wanting more poses, than they gave us. Thanks for the pics, and memories. Mike:)

I do like the Matchbox figures, especially the Afrika Korps and 8th Army sets that have some great poses. Have to try and take some photos.
I was really sorry that matchbox never produced their 1/72 Anzac and Japanese in 1/32 scale. The Japanese in 1/72 were of amazing quality, unfortunately I can't find any of my 1/72 figures now. I had them stored safely in a biscuit tin but the tin has dissapeared.
Luckily all my 1/32 stuff is safe.

Modwalls,

Yeah i had a load of cavalry and indians and also the fort that went with them. Again unfortunately i traded all my cowboys and indians for something that i desperately wanted at the time but can no longer remember.
All i kept was my fave Timpo Apache that i always thought was Geronimo :D.

A couple of years back i bought one of each pose from the Apache range just for nostalgia.

These are vintage ones. I guess i got them in the late 70's when i was around 8 or 9. Luckily i used to really look after my toy soldiers so they are still in good condition nearly 30 years later.

Hi Eazy
Thanks for posting the pics , I never had any timpo figures as a kid only
airfix and britains deetail. it would be good to see some shots of your
deetail stuff if you get a chance.
cheers

Hi Vandilay,

Any particular ones you are interested in and I'll dig them out if I have them?
Currently on display I have the Foreign Legion and Arab sets, mounted and on foot. Also I have all the 8th Army and Afrika Korps figures and vehicles out so I have a bit of a desert theme going on! :)

Hi James

I,d love to see the AK and eighth army stuff youve got.
The only eighth army piece I managed to get was the
daimler scout car .
I had all the european germans and british and US soldiers
[a few vehicles but not all] and a heap of napoleonic scots
I found in stratford upon avon [my favourite place in England as a kid].

cheers Rob
