Something for our Aussie friends (1 Viewer)

This is a brilliant museum that I have been to a couple of times.

John and Kathryn Shapland are avid collectors of military memorabilia and have established this on the farm property just outside Denmark on the south coast of Western Australia, about 400kms south of Perth.

This is their website https://recollectionsofwar.com.au/

And here are some pics I have taken there ....

One of the highlights for me was seeing the collection of 315 hand made soldiers, done by a retired soldier (now 90yo) after he emigrated from Britain.
The figures ar6 about 8" tall, their body is made from plaster and have accurately painted uniforms.

Also on the miniature theme, there are WW1 and WW2 dioramas made by a friend on mine who regularly displays them in the museum.

He makes the building and equipment but I paint the 'little men' for him :)

If you are ever visiting this part of the world, make it a stopover, I'm sure you will be impressed.
