In wake of the posts that several members received from a spammer, I thought I would post these simple rules which our company recently circulated.

These should be essential dos and don'ts for all emails you receive:

Reminder - what to do if you receive any suspicious email:

-- NEVER launch (i.e., open or double-click) an attachment to a suspicious email

-- NEVER click on a link in a suspicious email
-- Delete all suspicious email immediately
-- Never reply to a suspicious email.

In addition, with ebay or paypal, unless it has your user id or email in it, never click on anything in the email. I can't emphasize this too strongly.

With ebay or paypal, even if it has you id or email DO NOTOPEN OR REPLY. Phishing expeditions often send out very official looking emails.

Brad,
In response to your Spamming Rules post. This is excellent advise and its the procedure I follow with my company and yahoo email accounts. Just never crossed my mind that we ought to be as vigilent on the forum site.
Sad fact that there are evil chancers everywhere.

Cheers

Harry,

I'm glad that was helpful. From time to time, our company recirculates them just to remind people. They seem like common sense rules but I'm sure all of us have violated them on occasion.
