I found a crude homemade casting from the past in my stash. Looking at it, I decided to seek if I could rescue it as a piece. So in between other projects, I added putty to the figure.

Hi John,

I'll do my best to bring back memories for you...:)

I resculpted the face. Also touched up other areas. It's an imperfect casting.

I found another casting so decided to pair them up.

Then it occurred to me to do a minor conversion to get them to interact with each other.

I'm just full of beans.

Have you ever noticed stewardesses when they are walking thru an airport? They are always talking and gesticulating to each other.

Anyway, I really didn't like the right hand and decided to convert the hands to have these two ladies really interacting with each other.

The pic is too close and hence the hands appear bigger and they appear more brash, not demure. Sorry John, I tried....^&grin^&grin^&grin

After some cleanup and a coat of primer, it looks more presentable. Almost there with the resculpts. Have to make the women look like models...

After a little cleanup, I slapped some paint on the figures. BTW, new hp with better camera so the pics shld be clearer despite the size reduction.

I'm looking forward to seeing you 'slap' some 'batik paint' on the uniform next !!!! {eek3} {eek3}

Hi John,

For one of the figures, I knew my sculpting could be atrocious. I didn't realise that it could be so bad. I've decided to quickly resculpt her face.

This looks about right, I think. Now to try out the painting.

Painted the faces. Looks decent. Now to continue on the uniforms.

As the previous pics show, there are still imperfections in the figures. So I've tried to rectify those errors, given that these are toy-like figure castings.

Hello Victor,

Looking Good. I was afraid you would have the figures masked up as a sign of the times.

No issues with colourful and toyish figures here.

All the Best, Raymond. :)

Hello Raymond,

Long time no see. Thanks for your nice comments.
Interesting idea to do a series of masked figures to represent contemporary times. hahaha.

Here are the figures painted still wet, awaiting a final coat of gloss varnish. Notice the iconic bag. The ladies would love it. hahaha.

Wish I had more and could have made an arrangement with SIA to market these as souvenirs. Anyway, these go onto the Carousell platform.

Here are the figures fully painted and glossed.

Nice work Victor,

love the Batik Paint you used, is that available in S'pore these days ????? :) :)

Good news is that there are now daily flights into Perth by S'pore Airways, so someday soon, maybe next year, I'd love to on one :confused::confused:

Well done,

Jhn

Hi John,

Yes. The batik paint is amazing stuff. You just apply it over the figures and it separates out. Its called marbling paint.....hahahaha.

I really look fwd to seeing you again soon..
