Has this range been quietly discontinued. No combat troops have been done even though you could use Indians and French Marines from other ranges, but no raiding Rangers yet.Seems funny for JJ to start Ticonderoga with so much to be done (or could be done) with this range.

My guess is that lines like 1812, St. Francis, and Sudan are not among the top sellers. John is likely spreading them out. And with so many lines now in production, I think everyone will have to be a little more patient than in the past. We also apparently have a new Seven Years' War line coming out shortly. I imagine a lot of figures this year will be devoted to that. On the upside, there is a lot more choice for collectors and an opportunity to catch up on past sets. I'm a French-Indian War guy myself. So I understand the frustration. But I also really like the WWI stuff.

Hi Mark,

I'm with you on this. I would love to see more Rangers. JJ issued a few sets a couple of years back but then it seemed to quietly die off, as you said. Unfortunately I think Combat is right in that we'll have to wait as these new lines evolve.

Also agree 100% with Combat and RevWar.
However, I would have thought that 1812 was a top shelf series since getting certains sets is a difficult task these days.

Many of the JJD lines have a lot of room for expansion. The 1812 is loaded with possibilities as well as the St. Francis series.

I wonder if John is "testing the waters" on various eras to see which way to go?
However, lets hope that we are not on the back burner for too long? :(

Okay...

I gonna beat the drum too...

I want St. Francis Rangers attacking and peaceful Abenaki Village Indians getting pounded...

then Rangers running and Abenaki Warriors pursuing...

maybe even a cannibal vignette...{sm2}

Mike, ditto, although I'll pass on the cannibal...
Wish I'd collected snowshoes now, what with all those rangers, and fabulous natives in winter clothes.
I think a ranger and a native American every month would be just fine.

Mark...I actually bought the CD soundtrack...it really hits the nail on the head...

As you both know, the scope of the film is matched perfectly by the sountrack. The music sets the tone for the film in a very real way. It is also hard to believe this film is nearly 20 years old!

Last of Mohicans (1990s) is a well crafted movie and the music is awesome, but as a "frogger" the inaccuracies in the british regimental dress and regimental colors have me talking out loud and throwing popcorn at the TV screen. The 35th is not dressed in their "orange" facings, the 60th units have lace and the regimental colors are all wrong. Duncan's uniform drives me totally nuts. But I must admit, I do love the Highlanders, even though they weren't at the Battle.

The movie does so much very well, but then has a tendency to add "dumb" elements, especially as it regards military matters.

The 1990 movie relates back to the earlier movies much more than the book. The deviations between the book and the 1990 movie are massive. Who lives, who dies, and who falls in love with whom totally changes between the book and the movie. The "big battle" scene in the book is between the Delaware and the Hurons -- would love to see JJD doing Delaware.

I still love the BBC Masterpiece Threater production of the Last of the Mohicans (1970s). Mike Miller tried, but couldn't watch it. Think he stopped with episode 2. Maqua is particularly "wooden" in his acting, but there are some insightful moments particulary between Hawkeye and Chingacook.
