I have recently been given a Pewter Stadden figure from a fellow collector who knew I had painted a few of these larger figures and thought I may like this one too.

It a Buckingham Pewter figure which was sold unpainted, and is of a Light Coy, Coldstream Guard c 1815.

It had been undercoated and an attempted to be painted, so my first task was to strip it back to metal.

On examination I noticed there was no backpack, no plume on the shako, and the musket was very short, and was a badly made replacement.

The plume was from a Prince August mould, the back pack crafed from wood with a rolled metal sheet coat and belts, while the musket was formed with wire and metal sheet. The original does have a bayonet, but so far I haven't crafted that so thats the next challenge.

Anyway, here he is, in his restored colours.
