Yo Scott, regards your enquiry did Chas Stadden do a R.E.M.E. model, well the answer is possible. This is all new to myself after all this time. If you requested a model for your Regiment Chas was not going to make a new master it would cost you a fortune even in the 1970s/1980s. So what they did was use another model from the Catalogue slightly altered maybe different arm from another model and paint it to suit your Regiment. Then they would have a blank base engraved with your Regiment title, I believe they had a machine that did the engraving, maybe trooper could help on what type of machine they used. Anyway it came to light with this model turning up "Sergeant Royal Engineers" its a non catalogue model but its actually model #124 from the catalogue titled "Private No 2 Dress 1984" the owner tells me her uncle requested it from Chas Stadden. The easier conversion to do was the Lancers just a paint job the uniforms being the same except the Plastron and the plume just a different colour. IE: the catalogue model #43 "9th Queens Royal Lancer" and a non catalogue model requested from Stadden's of a 17th Lancer or (bonehead) lol. Same model different paint and base. So a R.E.M.E. bod might just turn up, But it would cost a bomb{eek3} being very rare like the Royal Engineer, they would be well sought after by the Stadden collector basically being one offs.
Good stuff this don't you think lol:rolleyes2:
