These are some photos from eBay of a factory painted, 41 figure grouping of Prussian Grenadiers from the Seven Years War. I couldn't blow up the photos any larger than this without making them too fuzzy to view. This 41 figure group sold for more than $2,000 or at an average, including shipping costs, of about $55 each. They are Lieb Guard; the flag is that of the 15th Regiment.

These photos are of smaller groupings from the previous photo.

Yep, that's the one I was watching. That had been up for almost two years, at least. It's a great collection, but I figured it would wait for someone willing to pay the asking bid.

They're not all from the Regiment-Garde (IR 15/I), though. There are a couple of fusiliers mixed in, and at least one of the officers is from the Leib-Grenadier-Batallion (Nr 6), which was the successor unit to Friedrich Wilhelm's "Giant Grenadiers".

The grenadiers with the black eagle on their cap plates are from the regiment, "Erbprinz Hessen-Darmstadt" (Nr. 12). I painted one of those a couple of years ago and noted the quality of Stadden's sculpting on that one. The painter does just paint the eagle on; the cap plate is very finely engraved.

Prost!

They're in very good shape, too, given their possible age. They were clearly displayed and cared for with some thought. I've seen some studio-painted Staddens that look like they were neglected over time, especially in terms of paint chipped and flaking away.

Prost!

Brad,

I saw this mitre hat in the Zittadel of Spandau while visiting Berlin last month http://www.zitadelle-berlin.de/en/

Like you, I have painted some of this regiment, and it was good see an original close up and see the paintwork.

Also, I do like these Staddens, one of my favourite makers, and so I'd love them in my collection, BUT don't have that sort of disposable cash :(

I spent part of the day at Bob's house and took some pictures as he has them displayed. They really are very well done and a pleasure to behold.
