Staddens (1 Viewer)

The helmets were already in a natural polished state so I left them alone except for some detail work later. For some reason the imager is posting my pictures sideways. I will have more pics as soon as I figure this out.

Great subject, KV! I don't have any of the Stadden knights in my collection, so I'll be following to see how you finish them.

I like your use of the natural metal. I've never tried that, myself, so I'm curious to see how that comes out, too.

Prost!

If I can get the pictures to come out right side up I will try posting again.

Still doing it:mad: I am going to have to take the pictures again. Stupid iphone

Now we got it!

Sorry for the quality. Stupid iphone! I will be using the Kodak later.

Great progress, the mounted figure will be impressive!

Have you ever built any of the contemporary kit figures of knights from Tradition? They're as well-sculpted as the rest of the catalog, and I've been tempted to start adding those to my collection, too.

Prost!

I remember when they were released. I liked the Lasset figures a lot and watched as each new release came out with great anticipation. Lasset figures just look different from Staddens, each with a more uniformly applied primer coat and better casting.

Each new released was advertised in Military Modeling magazine as they come out. I wish I had kept all my old copies. I don’t remember Lasset ever putting out a catalog.

Difficult to tell the difference for figures like these knights, with their helmets and surcoats. It's easier to tell with figures like those from the 18th Century or later. Tassell sculpted his figures with a more graceful look than did Stadden, whose figures look stockier in comparison.

Here are some examples from my gallery:

A Stadden grenadier and a Lasset grenadier:

and a pair of Jäger:

and from the Imperial German Army, a Bavarian Chevaux-leger by Stadden, and a Saxon Garde-Uhlan by Lasset:

The Lasset castings are more slender, and in this scale, sometimes more accurate in body shape and size, than the Staddens. But they all look good together in a group.

Prost!
