Hi

Star Wars command sets are on general sale and I picked up a few sets and the figures are about 1/32nd scale similar in size to Britains Deetail figures. They come in packs of 9 figures or more and really well sculpted in non painted plastic, but with character figures with some colouring.

I am going to get them painted up as they are the only sci-fi figures that I really like with being an avid Star Wars fan myself. The Clone troopers and Imperial Stormtroopers are my favourites and there are droids, jedi and others. Must find that Star Wars book I bought the kids years ago so that I get the uniforms and costumes colours correct

Makes a change form painting my usual Planet Earth based historical figures.

Yeah this is an interesting line. There's about ten sets, my son has two. The figures are a bit smallish but they are consistent across the range. My main disappointment is some of the boring poses - which might form half of each set. The makers should've really looked at some basic Airfix etc for a guide and made them a bit more playable.

The best ones done in this 'scale' were in about 2007 when the Battle Packs Unleashed range gave you sets of four, nicely painted in really great poses.

The Rancor Revenge set is awesome. Maybe, just maybe, Hasbro will release the smaller 'Bounty Hunting' and 'Endor Rebels' sets as well.

I got my rancor set from Ebay.co.uk. In the US this set seems to be sold by "Tuesday Morning" for a mere $13,00

I wish I got a chance to pick them up for the prices that you have to pay in the US. They are well worth it. The stormtroopers arent very crisp though, with some miscasting especially around the helmet area.

Hi Mirof

thanks for the link - they are good value and great for youngsters but they also have some good potential for painting and also a few conversions jut to give some pose variety. I will try to get all the sets whilst available. Never forget the 1st film back in 1977 and the magic of watching it for the 1st time as a 9 year old.

Regards
Dave

Co-incidentially I had the set featuring the Star Destroyer to give to my son today. It charges alomg the floor, whirls round and shoots 'laser balls' - he loved it! Ahh to be 5 again....
