Somebody will be offended about being offended.

I'm still going to collect and paint Confederate soldiers.

His suggestion for new bumper sticker; "Virginia is for lovers of embarassing chapters in American History"....................priceless, that is LOL funny......;)

Sounds like the governor has a few loose shingles on the roof............

That's great Scott, collect and paint all the Confederates you want to.............

That's the beauty of collecting miniatures. You don't have to personally identify with the "cause" of the army.

That is a riot, his sarcasim is priceless. I thought the S word was Sherman. That name will forever be hated in the South. :)

Too bad because Sherman liked the South while serving there pre-WBTS. His treatment of Johnston's army in the wake Lincoln's assassination was in line with Grant's policy toward Lee and Lincoln's policy of letting them up "easy."

"After the surrender, Sherman issued ten days' rations to the hungry Rebels, an act of generosity that Johnson would never forget; he wrote to Sherman that his attitude "reconciles me to what I have previously regarded as the misfortune of my life, that of having you to encounter in the field.".."

Johnston and Sherman became very close friends and when Sherman died in 1891, Johnston was a pallbearer. It was a bitterly cold day and Johnston caught a bad cold and died of pneumonia about one month later.

Don't want to start yet another @#$%storm over Shermans march to the sea and total war, but his march shortened the war and saved thousands of lives in both armies as a result.......................
