TG has done a Great job with their new Roman line. Can't wait till He comes out with the opposition for them. Also when the Persians come out for his Spartan Line. Here is a few pics of TG's Romans middle with Aeroart on left and First Legion on right. I think they go well together.IMG_5269.JPG IMG_5270.JPG IMG_5271.JPG IMG_5273.JPG

I agree TGM has really done well with this new venture into the Roman era. I wasn't sure at first but that feeling has long since passed. I was convinced after receiving that first Roman figure. 120 plus TGM Romans later and I'm still just as intrigued as the first. Of course there are things I can nit pic about but overall I'm really pleased with what is being produced.

I would like to see some opposition though or i might have to look at other brands to acquire. Planning on displaying roman fortifications soon and will be needing lots of enemy. Sapper.

I am collecting the Romans which just look wonderful. I actually physically turned my back on the cabinet in my shop with one of their Spartans in it. Just cannot start another series!

I agree wholeheartedly with Sahara. I haven't those sorts of numbers though, I'm only up to 34! I too can pick holes in some of the figures but I chose not to buy those that I don't think are quite right for my personal taste but that means that I then collect those figures I do like in greater numbers and I absolutely love them.

I'm still hoping for the ROM004a repel cavalry figures to be done without the greaves and blue leggings!

Besides their adversaries (Celts and Germanics for sure) some Roman artillery would be welcome....Ballistas and Scorpios.

Thanks for all your kind comments guys we certainly appreciate it. Pictures of our latest Roman War Elephant sculpt should appear shortly on this forum.
We are now up to ROM050 at the factory as far as design numbers are concerned, I think this goes to show how far the series has developed in such a short space of time and how committed we are to it. Of course you cannot make everything at once, budget restrictions at our end and the collectors end make this impossible.
There does seem to be some misunderstanding that the Romans are a limited numbers range, yes the black shield variants are but the red shield variants will be made so long as collectors demand it.

A new version of ROM004 Repel Cavalry will be due out soon without leg greaves and different colour trousers, to please the more 'picky' collectors out there who shied away from the first release.

Some more fighting Romans will also be out in January, with something like 6 new Romans in total as well as 5 new Spartans. I would hardly say we are being slow on our releases in the Roman field, in fact some people have commented there was too much coming in such a short period!
For those of you waiting for a Roman enemy we are really hoping to have a Celtic war chariot out in 2017 as well as Roman cavalry and auxiliaries.

2017 will also see a new Ancients range as well as a Victorian soldiers range.

I hope the above pleases most of you and once again thank you for your support.

Best wishes
The Gunn Team

I know, i know I'm picky!

Just to explain my pickiness, the feminalia that the Romans eventually adopted were made of dark red wool, so over time they would have taken on that worn brown appearance that I like!

The coloured breeches were more likely to have been worn by auxiliaries but even the colour of them is open to debate. They would have probably been quite drab too!

I love these figures, so you can't blame me for asking!
