While the Battle of Waterloo is raging across the Channel, Phoebe Hawthorne, a young Englishwoman, enjoys the flowers in the garden of her family's country estate. Her brother Rupert is a member of Wellington's Allied Army in Belgium, serving as a Lt. in the Coldstream Guards. She and her family eagerly await his return to "this Sceptred Isle".

Hi Randy,

Great image. Nice petticoat figure and lovely backdrop.

Thanks, Raymond.:)

"All's Well That Ends Well"

The dashing and handsome Lt. Guy Chapman of the Guards (Phoebe's and Rupert's childhood friend) has called upon Miss Hawthorne to tell her that her brother is well and safe after the battle at Waterloo and should be returning to England before the month is out.

My Daughter is reading Jane Austin all this week and watching ALL the Jane Austin movies so you can guess what these beautiful photos remind me of.

I still wish Capt. Richard Sharpe would show up to shake things up and solve all the problems.
