I will be lotting out and boxing my fathers loose toy soldiers. I know you have to be careful what they are stored in -I would like to store them in bubble wrap. Does anyone have any idea if bubble wrap is okay for storage (6mos-1 year).

Be safe! Wrap in tissue paper first then bubble wrap. I have seen oil based paint react to foam.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bubble can leave imprints and tissue can stick to the gloss. Storing glossy figures for periods of time can be tricky. If the "gloss" varnish - what ever it is - if it is thick you can pretty much bet that there will be problems.

I would use paper - like gift wrap or a slicker type - nothing with fuzzy or "teeth". Also, a foam type material is good - the density that many of the K&C sets come with, Trophy, etc. Imperials foam was too pourous and would sometimes stick to the gloss.

The alchemy of storing figures can be tricky.

If the paint is cured, there shouldn't be an issue with sticking, but you make a good point. When I say "tissue paper", I don't mean facial or bathroom tissue, I'm with Gideon, I use the tissue paper used for packing or wrapping gifts. I've got a ton saved from Christmases past. Just avoid the gift tissue that has glitter, it's a royal pain.

Prost!
