I may be late to the show on this one but you got to love when you find a gem, Stranger Things is a NetFlix series and man is it well done! binge watched 5 episodes last night till 2 am before I came to my senses.
I would call it a cross between X-Files and a bit of Fargo, actually think the science fiction side is better done here than in the "files". The Fargo side comes from the excellent "80's" period set and the quirky characters. lots of 80's music and suspense and drama with the innuendo of gore without having to gross you out which seems to be the trend.
Well worth a look, let us know what you think? and as one last twist, written by a pair of brothers??? just like fargo... Que the spooky music...

only on netflix streaming.

I enjoyed it a lot! Took me a day and then two episodes the next am

The crew I watched this series with (took us about a week - jobs, sleeping and all that getting in the way!) enjoyed it!
There was a discussion one kayaking trip of what it reminded us all of - consensus: Firestarter, Tales from the Crypt and Enemy Mine mash-up.
Interested to see what they decide to do next season!

I am in the camp who watched it in less than 48 hours. Really outstanding TV production. But with the novelty gone, it will be difficult for Season 2 to match the first Season's success.

After the reviews on here and at the furthur urging of my daughter, I have started watching this series. I am 4 episodes in and am enjoying it very much. There are elements from all sorts of different shows in this series. -- Al

I would have thought the same thing about Fargo, no way they could do a second season, but it was great. That's not to say these guys have proved themselves to be in that league, but I also think the overall package was really well done. Think there's alot of openings left after this seasons end.
