Earlier this week I got my first Figarti Tanks; The British Stuarts of the North Afrika and European Theaters. I was really impressed with them and like them very much. Later that evening while checking them out I dropped the European tank and it fell about 5 ft. to a concrete floor. Needless to say I was sick at my stomach over the thing. It hit on the right front Sprocket, smashing in the tread, busting the fender loose and breaking off the smoke dispensers. I guess I was lucky in that was the only damage. It could have been much worse. I got out a ballping hammer and reshapped the tread and sprocket, glued the fender and smoke canister back on and spent several hours matching paint. I got it back to about 95% to where it was and am feeling alot better about it now. This Stuart is a might banged up but still looks good. Shes got a bit a battle damage but is ready for the next campaign.

You are not alone in your trials and tribulations when it comes to what I loving refer to as "My Manditory Drop & Repair" periods. They seem to come about every two weeks or so. I have learned that I will never return them to their original condition, but, with the handy excuss of "battle" damage, I manage to make them work. It sounds like you too are experiencing a D&R period.

Dang, I hope this is not a "D&R PERIOD". I was hoping for an isolated incident. It would be interesting to hear other horror stories like this. Well, maybe not, I'm getting that queezie feeling again.

Hang in there Captain - bouts of clumsiness afflict all of us from time to time. I feel for you buddy!

Rule number 1 is get your den/lair office or where ever you house your collection double carpeted. Never open things in a garage, basement etc
Regards
Glad it turned out OK

Sounds contagious! I suggest we put foam at least three inches thick and then a heavy shag carpet to prevent further breakage. I am going to buy a carpet store now and await your orders;)

My wife has always said I should be locked up in a padded room!

They tried to lock me up for sensitivity traing when I was in the academy. Any wayyyyyyyyyy........ Might work if I can have my toys with me:)

Here is a shot of the new tanks. The one on the left is the one that was dropped. I was still working on the repairs at the time (and getting a little help from the tank crew). The silver looking oblique line on the side of the turret is where the smoke canisters were and that is fixed now.

I have that same Bellman desert Honey, and it looks fabulous. Great weather beaten detailing.
