I waited a long time for this one. Only T-34 had a larger production run. Early war the 76.2mm gun could take out the early Panzers But once the Panthers and Tigers showed up, it was used in large numbers to lay down massive barrages. I wish the gun elevated for that use. But that would be hard to do in this model.

The model seems to be a mix of polystone, white metal and resin and has good weight.

The weathering looks good as can be seen in the photos. The slogan is "For Stalin" and starts with a characture of Joseph.

The model's fighting compartment cross bar arrived broken and one of the side rails was detached (I reglued it). The rails and especially the crossbar are fairly thin and fragile. So is the short antennae which I have already bent several times. Only a matter of time until I break it. As for the crossbar, there are lots off WWII photos with it missing. The fighting compartment does not appear to be designed to hold all 3 figures, but with some finesse on the figures, it does. I don't know if all 3 figures can get in if the crossbar is there. The fighting compartment has good detail with 2 shell racks for HE and AP, ammo drums for a MG and a rubber mat for the gunner. Unfortunately no MG.

Photos are in the thread "Where Are The Germans" http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/showthread.php?53196-Where-are-the-Germans

Terry,

I have received my SU-76 cross bar in place so can verify difficulty in getting figures into fighting compartment.

The AFV itself is well put together and the accompanying figures are excellent.

Very impressed with the set and hopeful that Andy will produce some more of the Russian vehicles.

Regards
Mark
