Capt. Claggett of USS Dace died May 6 at home in Bethesda, Md. He was 96. He won the Silver Star for actions at Leyte Gulf and rescuing the crew of USS Darter. Another veteren of WW2 has passed on and will be missed but remembered. Salute! -- lancer
I was at the Yankee game last night, and, as it is fleet week, there were hundreds of Marines and Sailors on hand. It was nice to see 45,000 fans giving them ovations every time their photos were flashed up on the scoreboard. I am glad to see that the whole crowd was showing appreciation to our servicemen, and I hope we all remember vets like Captain Claggett this weekend.
