Hot on the heels of Rob and Konrad, Brad has a requirement for a Sudan War Camel. This one in particular is carrying ammo boxes; again it is made by Tradition.

Similar method as before, so Brad can choose what colour he would like the camel.

These are the castings, Brad’s camel is the one shown on the right hand side.

Here we have camel cleaned up and assembled with gel type super glue. There will be a need for a wipe of filler in the joints.

I thought green had been decided on?:p

I just bought me a camel to do as well. I'll get pics up later :).

Undercoated in grey primer and ready for painting.

Thought I would give Brad the option........but green it is then.:D

Did you get a Steadfast camel?

Jeff

Looking tremendous Jeff. Simon, ever the comedian. My next request will be a Fusilier model of Simon, painted green of course :D

Yep. But with what would appear to be a recurring theme of mine. Got it cheap, as it had already been started and then abandoned(£10 for the camel + handler).

In the interests of variety, when I get around to painting this up, I'll do it in a nice shade of blue.

Looking forward to Brad's next commission of Fusilier Wraith in emerald green :p

I'll just post the one shot of the piece and then clear off your thread. Must finish the 24th off first

Started to apply a few colours to the baggage and saddle today, when these have dried the harness will be painted next. I find it easier to leave the camel body until last for the same reasons when I painted the elephant, i.e. something to hold whilst painting.

Brad, what colour would you like the camel?

Jeff

Looking good Jeff.
To save you following Brad's link, this is the picture from it:

Nice shade I think - Good choice Brad. :)

Brad,

Simon's idea of green is fine with me :D.............or we could go with one of these? This is a set I painted some years ago. Brad, your camel is the one on the right. I will go with this unless you would prefer one of the others.

Simon,

These Tradition sets are well detailed and paint up fairly well, another view of the same set.

Simon, that is a camel with some fire power. Have you completed that yet? Where can I get that casting? How much?

KV, on the open day, Bob sold it by weight at £10, as it was an unfinished paint job. I'll check if they have any more when I next pop in. Just started slapping some glossy stuff on it.

The straps and harness has been given a coat of tan straight from the tin. The camel colour has been mixed and painted and I will post a photo of this in the morning.
