Just got my set of both JJD desert bases. Using them with some K&C Napoleon In Egypt figures.

They are great, much lighter than I thought they would be. The surface is uneven (by design of course) so I need to keep moving the pieces around until I get it just right :)

They are very useful items and go well with quite a few series. Naturally I have set up a good Sudan display with them but will also use them for other Middle East/N Africa scenes. I will be getting some custom made perspex boxes to fit over them as they are good for self contained little displays.

Well done to JJ for creating a very useful diorama item.

Hope JJ wont mind me saying his Sudan natives also make good enemies for Foreign Legion and even Greeks.

Having seen Brett's displays I can support his positive view of the bases. They work very well, either individually or in multiples.
