Okay, they are 28mm unpainted. I think they are really nice models. I just finished painting up some for a Sudan game I am running at a historical miniature gaming convention in July.

Thought folks might like to see them.

Those look great, Matthew. I had no idea John did those boats. -- Al

Hi Al,

I stumbled upon them when I was looking for gun boats for the game. He has them on his web site under 28mm, Darkest Africa. He has painted them much prettier than I did. I went for a dirty look. You have to buy them from John directly. They are really easy to put together and paint up pretty nicely.

They are nice little models. I wonder if John will produce one for his Sudan range?

I actually prefer yours!

Thanks for that. My stuff always gets painted dirty and lived in. But to me the bright and shinny stuff looks better in photos. I guess the details pop more when they are clean.

They were really fun to do, once I had time to sit down and work on them.

I know what you are saying.
I build model ships (as my second hobby). I feel that the ship isn't finished until I weather her, to appear that she has been at see for many years.

My wife tends to cringe when she sees the model, that looks just like it slid down the slipways, and then a short time later appears that it survived a typhoon. -- Larry
