I agree that an M7 would be great. An advantage of the earlier M7 (as saw action in the desert) was that they stayed in service through the war, even when later production M7s (with later features) were added to the inventory. An early M7 could be done (with minor details like stowage etc) for the British Eighth Army in the desert, the US Army in North Africa or Sicily (better choice due to the two-tone camouflage) the US Army in Normandy, the British Army in Normandy (even one of the "Kangaroo" APCs the Canadians converted by dismounting the howitzers) the US Army in the winter (snow camouflage), the Free French army, or the US Marines on Okinawa. That's quite a range of repaint opportunities for the investment in one basic vehicle!
Another plus, the early suspension under the M7 Priest (lsame as the M3 "Lee") will work with an early hull to make the desert Sherman that a number of people seem to want. So if "the boys" sculpt one nice master for the suspension, they can use it for several vehicles. There's nothing wrong with using American standardization to reduce production costs of the models.
Ana, please let me know if you need any refernces or recommendations for an M7 project.
