those anyone on the forums have the britians super deetail plastic figures?
i've seen them online but the pics haven't persuaded me to buy them.
so what do you guys think?

It depends on what you want them for. I own several of the Civil War and Western figures . . . I like them, but mainly because of price difference vs. metal. But as with any plastic figures, the detailing isn't quite as nice as on metal, and the bent/warped weaponry on many can be annoying.

I have got bunches of these figs. I took them and repainted them. Even then I would not compare them to what you get with medal.

I only have a few samples of the original Deetail figures... ACW and Napoleonic. I never liked the bases for these figures... I prefer the Britains swoppets/Heralds/Eyes Right plastic figures and have a big collection of these in ACW and AWI ranges. I find them more aesthetic in dioramas than the Deetail with the bulky bases. This is just my opinion. I know that there must be tons of people on this forum that grew up with these figures and have a nostalgic connection to them... including me! :)

I always thought these figures were interesting. I knew I still had some and
found them in a closet just sitting on a shelf.

I had a nice mixed group as seen in these photos.

I also enjoy the old Bergan Toy figures from the 1950's. They are fairly interesting if you can find them in one piece.

About three years ago we upgraded the painting on all of our Deetail figures. The bases were painted in a more realistic dark green and authentic uniform colors and better flesh tones were the key parts of the upgrade. We also added a variety of actual American Civil War flags to that assortment. And the detail across the board was bumped up. So you might want to give the new ones a try.

Thanks,

Richard
