For those a little concerned with historical reality, here are some remarks about T34/85 LWG046.
FL declines the first T34/85 LWG045 in a winter "February 1944" version but without any alteration.
Thus, it results the following inconsistencies :
- In first, the actual assignment unit is not the 36th separate tank regt but the 38th (several wartime photos during a ceremony in March 1944).
- The gun mount : the first batch of T34/85 was delivered to Red Army in March 1944 and had all the early D-5T gun mount as used on the SU-85 TD and
caracterized by a large collar at the base of the gun tube.
The upgunned version with the more powerfull ZiS S-53 in a newly designed wide mantlet appeared only in March 44 on the assembly lines.
- Inaccuracies with the year 1944 : effectively, as already stated in my previous post concerning T34/85 LGW045, the model has at least three
main technical arrangements that are incompatible with the year 1944 : squared off front mudguards, larger commander cupola with single hatch (January 1945)
and separate ventilator domes on the turret roof (late April 1945).
In fact, it seems that LWG046 and LWG045 are more suitable for a post WWII tank.
