I was wondering if any of you have any experience in taking a figure apart.
I have removed the paint and assume that parts such as the arms and legs are soldered on. I assume that the melting temperature of the figure itself must be higher than that of solder holding it together. How does one find the right temperature to break them apart without melting the whole thing?

What other methods are there in taking a figure down?:)

I doubt very much if they are soldered, more like super glued. They don't come apart very easily unless they are already loose. If the figure is striped try acetone.

In my old neighborhood they used to kneecap to take em down. Seriously most are glued not soldered, acetone works well.

A smart wack sometimes breaks the bond. Barring that a razor saw is a goood way to cut off apendages. Sometimes just twisting at a part carefully willget the part clear. Prying with a small firm piece of wood does the trick to. The idea is to get the glue to release. CA does not do well under pressure,or torque. Try rocking the piece back and forth to loosen it.
