Taking Chance (1 Viewer)

This played on HBO tonight...very well done movie. Worth watching.

I found it extremely well acted and written. It was a very fitting tribute. See it. -- lancer

Hey Larry

saw it on Saturday like you did- hit too close to home a couple times. My wife insisted I watch it and very glad I did. Kevin Bacon was fantastic- would never have guessed that Chance's dad was being played by Luke Duke!! - what a fantastic movie- good to see HBO rebound after that God awful miniseries.

I watched this one as well; what a tearjerker this one was, really makes you stop and think, the "funeral procession" scene lead by the tractor trailer really got to me. Kevin Bacon was brilliant in this one, played his character to perfection, he's one heck of an actor..........

I thought the original written article was more moving ... the movie differs from some of the details described in the article like what the stewardess said when she gave the Jesus pin. Goggle "Taking Chance" and you will find the article.:)

The sadist part of this movie is that it is so very real. It has happened and continues to happen. Anytime our military goes into harm's way, we must be willing to watch and be a part of such events. I just hope that I never have to be a family member receiving that visit in the middle of the night. We have the best people in the world. Not just the service member, but their families are the best families in the world also. There are mom's and dad's, husband's and wife's, and son's and daughter's at home now who will get that visit. If you know of anyone who does, please support them in any way you can. Bring them a meal, mow their lawn, wash their car, pay a bill or two. I urge everyone to do something from the heart.
