Taking fire from the treeline. (1 Viewer)

As I just mentioned in the previous post .... you are on a roll .... or in these last few posting... a Bagel, a Crumpet, a Cinnamon Bun and a Raspberry Danish!!! {sm4}

Caution .. having that much fun may be hazardous to your health!

Cheers Larry, I'll settle for a Custard doughnut !

The new Marine laying prone would fit in this scene as would an M60 gunner, M79 grenadier and a Radio Operator if they were available. Hint to Andy !{sm4}

No protection behind this wall. Need to swap positions and fast. Robin.

Ah what you don't see in the photo is that they're in a dry paddy taking cover behind the dyke !
You do see a lot of photos of troops taking temporary shelter behind those paddy dykes which look on photos to be at least 18" thick of compacted earth, so I'd think they'd be ok as protection against small arms fire at least until their actual position is located. After all sandbags only contain what earth is available from where you're digging and filling.
Still you'd not want to stay there long !
