Here are some photos I have. Some were taken in Berlin last year at the Soviet museum. Some are of the Soviet war memorial in the former W Berlin. It was fenced in when I was stationed there in '85-87. Now it is open.

Enjoy

Here are some more. The Brit tank is from 1987 at their training area. Reulaben or something like that. The M60 is from F Co 40th Armor during one of the parades from 1987. The kneeling Soviet soldier is from another Soviet memorial that was located in the former E Berlin

Here are some more from the 80s. The Leopards are in West Germany 1986. The 109 and M88 are from Berlin 1987 and the M60s from Fort Campbell 1984-85.

Wow that last shot has to be the cleanest M88 I have ever seen!

Here are some pictures I took and one of my crew took of me with a WP round we were using to "clean out" war stocks prior to changing to the M1A1. The WP Round was stamped 1968 on the base. so it had been kicking around the old ammo dump for a while the photo was taken in 1988.
I will post a few more of my tank photos as soon as I get a bit of time to scan them in. Enjoy

All the best

Dave

I believe the tankers actually used baby oil on the tanks for parades. I was a grunt so we marched! The Berlin Brigade had 4-6 parades throughout the warm months.

Aloha,

Larry
