Re: TCS DAK recon CS00572

Hi, does anyone know what is the purpose of this front end of the recon car? Is it a bumper or does it ram trees out of the way? I have no idea.
Thanks,
Rob

I have one of these and I like it as well. You have presented yours well in this dio Rob. I think the purpose of the front bit is to provide some additional armour protection for the vehicle. This is only a guess though.

Rob ,

From what i know , they added it as extra frontal protection...it is 8mm armor shield /...Along those lines , think of how they would later use shurzen / spaced armor to protect tank tracks & turrets...

It is a shatter plate or "PaK-Schutz" (PaK protection). Starting from 1940, they use a 10mm armour plate, later a 30mm armour plate for the Sd.Kfz. 232 (8-Rad) in the normal version and for the (Fu) version like the CS DAK until end of production (end 1942)
