I think that the JJ and WB Sudan figures work very well together and kudos to John Jenkins and Richard Walker for taking on this subject and making them work together. In real life the 92nd and the Camel Corps formed part of the team sent to rescue Gordon at Khartoum 1884-85.

Very nicely done as usual Randy by chance can you feature the same setting but this time with the Scot standing in the same position as the kneeling Scot. I'm sure you won't mind continuing to play with both..........Joe

Thanks Randy knew you wouldn't dissapoint me Great photo my friend.

Both are very well done Randy and JJD & WB look good together. Will be interesting to see both sides develop their ranges in the coming years.

Very good as usual.
It'll be interesting to see a JJ standing figure v a WB standing though.
Shame the other WB camel has been delayed.

I do think they will come up the same. What do you say?

Not entirely sure. The JJ figure looks a lot chunkier to me than the WB. May just me my eyes though!

You maybe right, but not so much as being obvious. As I see it the Britain's range will be the seasoned troops who are battle lean and the JJ range the reinforcements not long off the boat and a little soft. I am confident both will blend in together, as I hope Conte will do as well. I guess time will tell and no doubt further photos to come will solve this once and for all.

I think I kind of agree from this picture...the Brits do look a tad smaller in girth...the heads seems most noticeable...not to say that they won't match on the same table...I might buy a set or two to display next to my Jenkins and see how they look in person...

WB 1882 Black Watch Tel-El-Kebir
JJ 1884 Gordon Highlander

In this example the WB is larger in scale than the JJ. The WB Museum Collection and the WB Zulu ranges appear to be a few mm larger than say the AWI or ACW series. As Ken and Andy frequently point out human body types are quite variable. First Legion has recently issued a plump Gordon Highlander in its Napoleonic range.

I now have notification from UPS that this WB Camel Corps figure will be arriving at my "zareba" this coming wednesday so I will post comp shots with the JJ Gordon and the WB Camel Corps medic. It is exciting to watch the battlefield at last taking shape.

I've already got the JJD Gordons and hopefully will have the first WB Madhist next week to see if I can mix manufacturers.
