This was posted on the other board and together with British Commando may bear watching when they come out. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and I can't see well heeled investors or collectors letting King and Country have the field to itself.

*****

Introducing Tempest Toy Soldiers. Our company is financed by an avid King and Country collector who wants to see more figures and vehicles produced in the 1:30 scale. Our goal is to widen the market and provide figures, vehicles and accessories as alternatives or compliments for collectors that appreciate King and Country figures.

Onboard with us are some very talented sculptors that enjoy working in the slightly larger scale. Our sculptors are focused on the lifelike quality and exacting standards found in King and Country pieces.

We have started our master sculptings depicting WWII German and American forces during Battle of the Bulge. We are also in the drawing phase of designing figures and vehicles representing allies and Germans at the Normandy invasion.

We would like customer feedback. What do you feel is missing on the current market? Do you want to see more unusual vehicles or just a larger selection of the more popular armored vehicles such as the tiger tank? What accessory pieces do you want to see produced to go with the figures and vehicles?

Thanks!

Is there a website? I'd love to see this.

Maybe it's Gambale funding what he wants produced?

Re : “BRITISH COMMANDO & TEMPEST”

WOW, 2 new startups with lots of great ideas and the same scale as K&C and they’re going to be available in the coming months!

Both spokesmen for both companies have been very forthcoming about what they’ve either got “in the works” or would like to do. However they seem more than a wee bit bashful when it comes to “who exactly they are”…“where are they based”… and “how are they going to produce what they’re talking about”. Questions, questions, questions.

Seriously but, myself and K&C are not afraid of healthy competition – we welcome it. It’s good for the business – it keeps us on our toes and it’s good for the hobby and collectors.

Both British Commando and Tempest aim to follow in our footsteps (World War II and 1:30 scale) and that’s fine by me. I hope they can “walk the walk” as well as they “talk the talk”.

Or to put it another way … “Talk’s cheap but it takes money to buy sausages!”

Best wishes to one and all.
